GENZLER® AMPLIFICATION announces the addition of a new, compact, high-powered, 4 x 10” model to their revolutionary Bass Array cabinet line-up.  The BA410-3 is loaded with 10 separate cone drivers and is simply the most compact, powerful, detailed and articulate presentation of the BA concept in a single enclosure.

Although, smaller than most 4 x 10” and tweeter cabinets, this innovative design blends the punch and quickness of four premium Neodymium 10” drivers, in a vented bass reflex enclosure, and the performance and pattern control of a 6 x 3” Neodymium paper cone driver line array element.  The placement of the line array in front, and between the 10” woofers further provides an extremely broad projection pattern, immediate quickness and clarity that is not possible with standard 4×10” designs.  Also due to line array principals the all-important mid and high frequencies have a much wider horizontal dispersion with a more controlled vertical pattern. This offers the most even projection possible around the perimeter of the stage and audience.

The transition of lows, mids and highs are extremely smooth, seamless and detailed; and the force and clarity of this cabinet makes it ideal for large stages and venues.

Description

The benefits of this design platform are exponential for the player:

  • Delivering full, deep, low frequency response from the high efficiency 4 x 10” woofers — doing what they do best, providing excellent support of the fundamental for the lower strings of the instrument.
  • Using a selective crossover point this design overcomes the “beaming” (pattern narrowing) effects of a full range signal being reproduced by larger low frequency drivers which is common in many current small cabinet designs.
  • Lowering midrange and high frequency distortion by allowing the use of small, 3” high performance cone transducers that would otherwise be unsuitable without the increased acoustic sensitivity obtained by the array design.
  • Providing a much more open, smoother midrange and high frequency response because of the ideal natural characteristics of the mid-high frequency array when compared to a conventional tweeter that cannot reproduce the crucial midrange frequencies without pattern control or un-natural distortion.

The BA410-3 is an extremely compact and lightweight (55 lbs) 1000 watt, 4 ohm cabinet, and is ideal for those players that need the highest powered, most dynamic performance in a single, compact cabinet design.

My Urban Assault Rig =) I give the Genzler Amplification Magellan 800 head & BA-410-3 (4ohm 1000watt) “Bass Array” speaker system – the blue ribbon, 1st prize in my stand alone one cab NEO driver rig realm. It’s amazing for a long list of reasons! Massive tight low end, LOUD, clear, clean, noiseless, and punchy. Oh so easy to move around and lift, very light weight while delivering fat and super warm bottom for soul and dub. Not lacking for highs, but not overly hyped either – fast, sultry and smooth for slap transients and articulation. Very sturdy build quality on both the head and cab. 2 channels clean/dirt, chassis mounted controls with nice stiff turning pots. The Bass Array cab system has remarkable full range audio dispersion, all the frequency information goes everywhere equally, with a perfectly crossed over blend. It fills the stage with pleasing full range sound, and sounds great standing to the side of it, or way in front of it. From the audience perspective it arrives everywhere in a large performance area evenly and with soothing warmth, definition and clarity, to all corners of a large room. Fascinating throw and freq alignment design – THAT WORKS – Winner in it’s class.

The Genzler BA410-3 is the latest addition to my low end arsenal. The construction is top notch and the cabinet is very compact and lightweight. Very easy to move! I am driving the cabinet with the Magellan 800. What a combination! The cab has a great, natural low end that is in just the right spot. It doesn’t have the wide, pillowy low end like some cabs that get muddy and lost but has the perfect low end punch. If you add lows it can get deep and start shaking the walls…..but it still cuts through. The mids are nice and smooth and have the right amount of presence. Where this cab goes to another level is with the use of the ‘line array’ 3 inch drivers. The upper mids and highs are fully present but in a much smoother way than a traditional cab with a tweeter. If glassy highs are your thing you can get it with this cab without the excessive hiss and noise that you usually get from tweeters. This cab definitely has a full sound at different areas around the room that a more traditional cab just can’t pull off. I couldn’t believe it the first time I heard it…..so much sound coming out of a single cab. Amazing! This will be my single cab solution going forward for a long time……grade = A+!

I just purchased the BA410-3 and the BA15-3 SLT, and I must admit that my previous cabs of which I thought to be top-notch at the time at least, can’t hold a light to the Genzler Amplification technology. The materials used are of high quality, and yet are extremely light and portable. The lows are focused and punchy , not at all muddy. Yet they are able to make the floor rumble if you push them. The mids are simply tonal heaven. My tone cuts through the mix, even at minimal levels. Very smooth and tonally pleasing, not honky or ear fatiguing at all. The mids to highs crossover blend is nothing short of spectacular. The line array 3-inch drivers are an engineering marvel of technology. Jeff got this 100% right. I was initially somewhat concerned about not having a tweeter, having been a tweeter guy since the 80″s. But I can honestly say I don’t miss the shrill and hiss that comes with that old tweeter technology what so ever. I never equated highs with being smooth and present, yet somewhat warm to the ear, if that makes any kind of sonic sense. I can honestly say, that I can’t ever see me going back to the old tweeter tech. To say that I am excited about the prospects of my tonal future, would be a grave understatement. I would personally like to thank Jeff, and everyone at Genzler Amplification, for creating such a superior product. I have been in contact with Jeff and he has been nothing short of inviting, knowledgable, and very honest when it comes to the application of his products…..BRAVO–GREAT JOB!!!

I’ve been playing for four decades, and I’ve used just about everything: From my first bass amp (a 1962 blonde Fender Bassman), through my Acoustic 360 days in the 70s, through my Ampeg SVT 810/Gallien Krueger rig in the 80s and 90s, and down to the finest Bergantino, Mesa and Aguilar cabs of today. I’ve always wrestled with uneven dispersion in various rooms, especially with the multiple-10s cabinets that I love. To deal with that problem (and others), the array system is used by all the major sound reinforcement companies for large-venue PAs. And your adoption of the array arrangement for your cabs has worked a minor miracle for bass players regarding evenly distributed sound.
By the way, the combination of the 410 and the 15 cabs is especially impressive — it’s my new go-to rig for larger venues. But the 410 cab alone works beautifully on its own for smaller gigs.
Congratulations on an innovative and great product, Jeff.
    Sincerely,
    Tom P.

I recently purchased a 4×10-3, pushing this incredible enclosure is a Bergantino forte HP best sound ever! It is the most rewarding tonality I ever heard. I have Hartke, PJB and GK enclosures they truly pale in comparison. If I need one I will look into The magellan 800. I am very interested at this time. Thank U Jeff.
