A New Slant on a Revolutionary Design

GENZLER® AMPLIFICATION is proud to announce the addition of the BA210-3 SLT, slanted model to the innovative BASS ARRAY® line of bass guitar cabinet systems.   Based upon the overwhelming success and popularity of the Bass Array®12-3 SLT design, we’ve now expanded the line to include this 2 x 10” variation.

The new slanted version further enhances the benefits of the BA concept adding a new level of dispersion and projection, either when being used as a single enclosure or in combination with the straight BA210-3, BA410-3 or additional slanted BA cabinets.  This offers multiple options to the player to configure their BA210-3 stack for the best coverage of the stage and performance venue.

Although the same size as many 2 x 10” and tweeter cabinets, this innovative design blends the punch and quickness of premium Neodymium dual 10” drivers, in a vented bass reflex enclosure, and the performance and pattern control of a 4 x 3” Neodymium paper cone driver line array element.  The placement of the line array in front, and between the 10” woofers further provides an extremely broad projection pattern, immediate quickness and articulation that is not possible with standard 2 x 10” designs.  Also due to line array principals the all-important mid and high frequencies have a much wider horizontal dispersion with a more controlled vertical pattern. This offers the most even projection possible around the perimeter of the stage and audience.

And the new BA210-3-SLT model utilizes a 6-degree slanted baffle providing increased projection upward towards the player and the audience.  This unique cabinet shape also further reduces internal standing waves, which translates into an even clearer tonal experience.

Description

The benefits of this design platform are exponential for the player:

  • Delivering full, deep, low frequency response from the high efficiency dual 10” woofers — doing what they do best, providing excellent support of the fundamental for the lower strings of the instrument.
  • Using a selective crossover point this design overcomes the “beaming” (pattern narrowing) effects of a full range signal being reproduced by larger low frequency drivers which is common in many current small cabinet designs.
  • Lowering midrange and high frequency distortion by allowing the use of small, 3” high performance cone transducers that would otherwise be unsuitable without the increased acoustic sensitivity obtained by the array design.
  • Providing a much more open, smoother midrange and high frequency response because of the ideal natural characteristics of the mid-high frequency array when compared to a conventional tweeter that cannot reproduce the crucial midrange frequencies without pattern control or un-natural distortion.

The BA210-3 SLT is an extremely lightweight (36 lbs) 500 watt, 8 ohm cabinet, offering those players who gravitate to the response of 10” drivers a more full-bodied, defined, musically smooth and seamless cabinet choice.

I was looking for a 2×10 after playing 1x12s and this was the ticket. What I really love is turning up the treble a bit on the Magellan 800 just sounds amazing, never harsh, with
open smooth midrange and high frequencies that come through naturally and sound good with a bit of distortion too. The low end punch of the 2 10s is deep and I had more than enough compared to my 2 12s with more punch and projection.

The band liked it at the gig last weekend and getting it there was a piece of cake, a little more than a 1×12 but one load and done.

Should have offered a 10-star option!

AMAZED!!!!!!!!!!! Wow-what a tone. Playing through my Warrior ’62 Bella 5 string or my Fender Squire Jaguar 5 with the EQ flat and the EQ flat on the Magellan 350. I can get the perfect slap tone, finger tone, ANY TONE! I pulled the trigger on this rig because of my past experience with Genz Benz knowing that Jeff Genzler “IS THE MAN” when it comes to tone. I know it was annoying to Jeff but I must say “THANK YOU FE@&ER” for giving Jeff a reason to show you up AGAIN!!!!!!!! What an amazing amp thank you Jeff Genzler!

I give this cab four stars, and I’ll explain why…
My preference is the BA 12-3 SLT, which I have two. I bought this cab to pair with my BA 15-3. These two makes a perfect setup, kind of like a much bigger 2 x 112-3 setup. The 210-3 is a very good cab on its own, just a little “light in the very lows” compared to the other cabinets. One environment where it truly will shine is in an old high arched stone church where massive lows just will roll around. I will try it on its own in a gigging situation when the world starts again after the Corona pandemic; then I may change my opinion. Four out of five is not that bad after all…
