Description

What does Acoustic Array mean?

The focal point of this light-weight, compact combo is a speaker design engineered for acoustic instrument reproduction that is based upon our revolutionary Bass Array® format from our bass guitar cabinet designs.     The AA-PRO speaker system features a specialized 10” woofer in a ported chamber along with the performance and pattern control of a proprietary line array column, which is mounted forward of the woofer in the center of the speaker baffle.   The updated line array column now utilizes 4 LAVOCE, full-range, 2” neodymium, paper-cone drivers and no compression tweeter is used in this design.   The use and placement of the line array provides exceptional clarity and ultra-smooth response, along with broad dispersion and projection that line array principals produce.   The 10” woofer produces the depth and roundness of the low frequencies while the mid and high frequencies are produced by the line array and are clear, natural and authentic to the acoustic instrument.

The blend of this innovative speaker system along with our preamp and amplifier platform delivers an acoustic amp like no other available.   Either used as an acoustic instrument amplifier from the stage or a stand-mounted PA, the Acoustic Array™ PRO is a 27 lb versatile package ideal for a variety of uses and venues.

Prior to purchasing the acoustic array pro, I tested multiple amps for months, trying to find just the right one to match The rich and sparkly tones I was looking for. Time and time again The acoustic array pro seemed to be the perfect fit, however I just needed to make sure. Im so glad I bought it! I plug in with my seagull artist series guitar and my Neumann KMS 105 and love the sound I get. It’s lushes and rich and has this distinct richness to the sound that is pleasing to the ear. I’ve showed it to some of my snooty guitar friends LOL who agree the sound rocks. I have since added a few toys for added effects and am excited about the rich sound I’m getting. It’s great not having to lug around heavy equipment anymore. Great buy! Highly reccomend!

I very much like the Acoustic Array Pro. I am a cellist. I play jazz and mostly play pizzicato.Your combo unit is just what I was looking for! With it,I am able to get more volume while maintaining the sound of my instrument.
Beyond that, because the amp has two channels, my guitar player is able to plug in and enjoy separate controls.
The Acoustic Array Pro is all I need.

  3. Greg C. Roeder

I would be happy to give you my reasons for purchasing a Genzler Acoustic Array Pro. First of all I don’t just play only acoustic steel string. I play electrics of all kinds, and Nylon. My acoustic amps of choice have been Fishman. I have one for about every propose from the small Loud box to mostly using the Performer and all points in-between. I also use a Mesa Rosetta from time to time. Everything else I have tried over the years have found their way to other owners.

I only use three different systems in my acoustic line up. LR Bagg’s Anthem, over ten years of Taylor’s Expression systems as they have developed into the Expression 2, and K&K Under The Bridge Mic/element with external pre-amp on my Gibson L5. Not going to be cutting holes into my L5 period. So by limiting myself to these systems I feel I have eliminated the weakest point of transferring acoustic to electric.

With years of trying everything possible I have never been satisfied with the reproduction of my Nylon Stringed instruments from acoustic to amplified without a professional soundman doing his thing to make me happy, and they are far and few between. Yes I can eventually make the adjustments that sound fair on my other amps, but then I have virtually no other options on how I want to play with different voicing of the instrument. One slight variation and I’m back to the brittle sound that makes me just unplug and move on.

So I saw your Array Pro pop up on Moore Music’s website as a new arrival and I grabbed a few guitars and ten min. later I’m in the amp room doing my thing. Why mess around I started of with a Taylor Concert NS62ec Big Leaf Maple and Engelmann Top. Flat lined the Array and the magic was instant. Then I found out I had all kinds of EQ, reverb, chorus, etc. to work without adding the brittle element sound. It never reared its ugly head once.

Then BTO Breedlove’s and Taylor’s from Concert, Auditorium, Jumbo and all points in-between got a look see. Even plugged in a Taylor T5 and T5z and still the dynamic range never had to be dialed back. Then finally I took a PRS hollow body II and split the Piezo into the Genzler, and the Two 58/15 LT’s into a small Mesa 5/25 and with very little tweaking started doing my thing. Before long I turned around and two salespersons and a couple of regular customers managed to find their way back into the amp room to see what was going on.
So I now have two Fishman Performers. One will be finding a new home and will be replaced with another Genzler Array. I haven’t had time to look into using the external speaker plug available, but perhaps you might shied a little light on filling a larger performance area without going through an already existing system the venue may already have in place.

At 66yrs. old I don’t really get that many what I like to call “”Wow Moments”” but this amp has helped provide a few more than normal.
So my main take on this amp is you may not need to replace the average consumer electronics systems on many mid-range priced guitars. You just need to buy this amp to go with it. And may I humbly assure you many weekend warrior’s that are performing need to pay more attention to what their equipment really sounds like as they perform. It’s not their guitar, it’s not the beautiful voice they may have. It’s the dead and gone days of having to put up with inferior ampflication!

Every brand of acoustic amp out there states their main goal is to reproduce the natural sound of an acoustic guitar. Your guitar and most amps will not actually allow this to happen.

    So, Well Done Genzler!

I really like the Acoustic Pro Amp a lot! I have always been a proponent of the nuances of an acoustic instrument and resisted amplification for many years, although knowing that someday I would need to address that. Your amp, really addresses the hi-fidelity required for replicating an acoustic instrument.I commend you for your obvious thorough research into the unique demands of acoustic instrumentation.

  5. Sam Patterelli

The Acoustic Array Pro is very versatile. I play in a acoustic duo where I play mostly bass, some acoustic and/or electric baritone as well as acoustic and/or electric guitar. This amp handles all these extremely well. Often, just a turn of the contour knob dials in what I need for each instrument .However, lots of rooms you play are acoustically awful so it’s really nice to have sweepable mids to dial out the boomy mud and still have tone left in your guitar.I also run my vocal mic from the board to the other channel as a monitor. For a more intimate setting like coffee house or house concert you could just go straight in without a PA. You can even put it on a speaker stand to get it up in the air a bit. It has plenty of volume if you play in a bigger band, and a extension speaker jack for even more oomph. Really though, the shining feature of this amp is the speaker array. The 10″ woofer is very rich sounding and the small speaker array sounds so much better than most amps with tweeters. With a dirt pedal and some EQ you can even dial in some usable drive. And at 27lbs it feels like nothing to carry. Even at the end of a long gig! There are plenty of acoustic amps out there for less and more money, but for me this works out great. Perhaps it could work for you too!

Just picked up the Acoustic Array Pro. Wow.
I have owned 11 acoustic guitar amps in the last 3 years searching for that elusive tone, expensive well reviewed amps.
The closest I got to the tone I was speaking was using a Bose S1 Pro with a Grace Alix preamp/DI.
Well, I was able to compare the two back to back and the Genzler Array Pro emerged victorious!
I am thankful that my search is over.
It’s a great sounding lightweight amp with a rich bottom, sweet mid range roll off and a smooth high end.
    I couldn’t be more pleased.

I have been a performing musician since 1980 and I’ve owned countless live setups over the years. I am always seeking the purist tone for live performing but never seemed to find the right gear to deliver what I’m looking for which is to make the live sound feel like a recording quality setup. Those days are gone… the Acoustic Array Pro is a GAME CHANGER! It’s not just clear…it’s pristine! The fact that it separates the frequencies of highs and lows by using a 10″ speaker with 4 small speakers in front of it is genius! The amp is so flexible when it comes to helping you dial in your tone with the contour and mid frequency EQ. The reverb is amazing! I can’t say enough about it… it sounds warm and natural, not digital. The chorus is also excellent in terms of quality and depth. I just bought the extension cab and when combined for 300 watts of power the amp just coasts with tons of headroom. Thank you Jeff Genzler for engineering such a superior quality amp!!

I am blown away by this amp. The depth, clarity, sheer power, and versatility are awesome. I am primarily a music theater pit guitarist, in addition to other jazz and pop/rock ventures.

So I play many different instruments in the pit setting. This amp sounds fabulous with my nylon, steel string, plectrum banjo and eve uke. And a pleasant surprise is how great it sounds with my jazz archtops. Gives that nice acoustic archtop sparkle that’s lacking with traditional guitar amps. The contour control is super-useful in the pit, letting me make quick adjustments without futzing with my preset midrange settings. And I ESPECIALLY like the completely independent chorus and reverb controls. I use chorus often, sometime just for some added color, but often to mimic 12-strring, or even mandolin. It’s great to have it on-board and individually controlled for each channel. EXCELLENT deign.

The amp is doing double duty with my wife, for her singing, 76 keyboard, and elec violin. Our only problem is that if we play together we end up arguing about who gets to use the AAP!

When I was trying to decide about a new high end acoustic amp, Mr Genzler was incredibly accessible and friendly.

I’m so pleased that I went with this amp instead of other similar products on the market.

  9. Brian D’Angelo

This is the third acoustic amp specifically and that I purchased in probably 12 to 15 years. For this last purchase I tried everything from the top end of Fishman and of course looked at the ER and other upper end acoustic amps ranging between 1500 and $2,500. The sound, projection, effects versatility and on and on. In my opinion this is absolutely the best acoustic amp that I’ve ever owned in my life. I was originally seeking out some of the original genz Benz Shenandoah series from a few years back of course not able to find any of them anywhere available. Of course as I learned where the direction of the company went and is now back under the new name genzler I was literally jumping for joy to find out that this new line was out. Mr. Genzler and his company have outdone themselves. I don’t know of any acoustic amplifier at this price point that has anywhere near the sound or flexibility. You have gained a customer for life sir. 😎

This amplification system is literally life changing for me. Especially in this new way of doing music in quarantine. The AA-PRO is so even, so smooth, and so flexibly beefy And supports the way I play better than any other amp I’ve ever used. Hands down. I have some nice guitars, specifically a couple Olsens – playing the Olsen through the Genzler is like playing a Rolls-Royce through a Rolls-Royce.
    Grateful. Beyond!!!!

  11. Mark

I have owned several acoustic amps over the past 6-7 years, in search of the perfect tone and features. Fishman Loudbox, Fender Acoustasonic and SFX, Marshall AS100D – all highly rated quality amps – but for me, none of them really suited my ear. I researched again recently, stumbled on the Genzler AA-PRO and decided to give it a try. I’m very happy I did. The amp is perfect and the sound is incredible. It’s very light weight but not a consideration for me, actually. It’s physical size is amazing given the sound quality and power. Even with the settings at 12 o’clock, the sound is wonderful and so full. And it’s the first amp that makes my Taylor guitar sound great, even without any effects applied. The ability to mount the amp atop a speaker/PA stand is a plus as it can be at ear level and easy to access. The build quality is exceptional. The knobs are a nice design and ergonomic. To sum it all up, for me the AA-PRO is the perfect choice and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Got my amp delivered fine on Sunday morning!!That was fast.
Am playing primarily my J-45 equipped with the James May ultra tonic conversion of my K&K pure mini. I have a tonedexter and have a good wavemap of my gibson, but after messing with the controls, I dont think I need it with the AA!!. My vocals sound very clear and robust and the guitar sound, once dialed in, is very clear and ‘acoustic” sounding. The result is better than I even hoped for. My pastor stopped in and listened to it from the other side of the room. He said I’ll have no trouble filling a room without a PA and as it gets louder it sounds just as sweet. Really looking forward to my outside gig in three weeks. Thank you Jeff!!
